KOFO Again

Ron DePriest President

President of the Senior Center Board

Brad has invited me to go back on KOFO radio. We will be talking about cook books. We would like a few more contributors. If you have some recipes that are finger looking good would you mind contributing them? Have you put your favorite recipes in yet?

Our tentative date to order the cook books will be June 30, 2014. We will be setting a deadline to put your recipes in. I will be live on KOFO on June 13, 2014 at 8:10 am.

Ottawa Main Street Association

Ottawa Main Street Association is now a part of our culture.

Ron DePriest President

President of the Senior Center Board

Recently our board voted to join the Main Street Association. There are many good reasons to join this organization.

Since I became president of the board I began polling people, why don’t you come down to the Ottawa Senior Center? I began finding out that people didn’t know that we existed, or they didn’t know where we were located, they didn’t know our telephone number, and many other stories. Tor those of you that have died we will allow that excuse. So that is the short story of why we joined the Ottawa Main Street Association. They are alive, active and well!!!

Seniors we are looking for you!!! Come on down!! The Ottawa Senior Center for many years has been serving the community.

If you are alive and active come volunteer and take part of being alive!!!

Ottawa Sesquicentennial

Ottawa Sesquicentennial has begun the the celebrating of our beginning as a town. We the Ottawa Senior Center have officially joined the Ottawa Herald’s effort to celebrate our history. We are officially a sponsor of Ottawa’s Sesquicentennial celebration.

The Senior Center building is the oldest building in the down town area. The plate on the front of our building says that the building was built in 1869. Ottawa was started in 1864. This link will take you to the Ottawa 150 click and go to the Sesquicentennial Site.

We have some things and events we would like to do as a part of this celebration. If you would like to be a part of the celebration I am looking for people who can and will volunteer with the Ottawa Senior Center.

It is exciting to see the down town area of Ottawa become more active and alive! Come and be a part of the celebration!!
